Fresh Mexican cuisine in a comfortable and relaxing environment. The wait staff has always been courteous and the food arrives in a timely manner. I have yet to find a dish that I did not enjoy and when we save any room for dessert we absolutely love the churros and sopapias. We rarely have room though as the dishes are more than adequate to satisfy any hungry belly.I absolutely recommend this restaurant over the others.

Shared the steak and shrimp fajitas with my friend. Everything came out in a timely fashion and was delicious. Margaritas are super strong and the beer was cold. Our server was very nice.

This was the second time I went to The House of Lion. And I have no complaints from either trip. Waitresses are friendly and know the menu. The food is great. We sat down, got our drink in about 3 minutes, queso in about 5 minutes. Ordered our food and it came out in about 15 minutes. Best Mexican restaurant I've found in the greater New Orleans area.

Service and price was outstanding

My in-laws and I came here for a quick lunch a few days ago. It was around 11:45 am. When we walked through the doors there was no one there to service us. We stood by the doors and curiously looked around for help. We waited for at least three minutes until someone was able to seat us. As we looked around we noticed that the restaurant was super short staffed. Their was no one tending the bar. A few families were already dining as well. When we were seated we then proceeded to wait another 3-5 minutes to be asked for drinks. By now, I was already ready to go. The server looked rushed, upset, and overwhelmed. When our server brought out our cups of sweet tea, the sweet tea tasted like sugar water. After 25 minutes of waiting for our food it was incredibly mediocre. I will not be dining here again.

We sat at the bar for the longest before we got any service. Food is mediocre at best. We wont be coming here again. Only good thing was my margarita.

Margaritas are good (Happy Hour ends at 6pm). White queso is good. Steak fajita is very good (maybe best in NOLA area). Order #59. Friendly staff.After 2nd trip, have to upgrade to 5 stars. Best TexMex cuisine in south LA.

Just left there about an hour ago with a margarita and so called large cheese dip with STALE Tostitos!! $8.00 for this alone.Margarita is always very good.

Good food! I enjoyed the sides the best actually. I had the shrimp chimichanga. I'd recommend not getting shrimp though. I'd go veggie next time

Today was excellent! Food was quick and piping hot. Chicken was plentiful with the fajita dinner. The onions were perfectly caramelized.

Not great. Long wait, food cold, waitress took a long time to come back to table. Kids chicken strips and fries were good.

Only average Mexican food! Some of the chain Mexican restaurants are much better!Quacamole was uneventful as was the entree. Salsa and chips we're the highlight, sadly!

Service was awesome, the lady was helpful and really good at what she does. But, the shrimp soup i had ordered was really salty, and seemed like it was from the days before. Thats the only reason i gave it a 4. Everything else was good

Staff was friendly and service was good. The dining room appeared clean however the restroom was very dirty and run down. Tried a chicken enchilada, beef taco and steak fajita. Found all food to be a bit bland.

Our first visit, there will be more visits by us. Food was excellent, the fajitas for two was more than the three of us could eat. There was plenty left to fill a take away tray. Yes, the food was that good! We look forward to our next visit.

Waitress had a bad attitude first off. She took way to long to take our order and nobody could find her when it was time to get togo boxes and pay the bill. This place always lacks good service. Food wasn't all that. A little under typical Mexican. This place used to be very good but lately horrible. I'm done with it for sure.

Delicious, we got margaritas and it was awesome, The waiter was super nice to our group and did a very good job! The food was great, I can’t wait to go again and hopefully add some pictures! I really enjoyed the chips that were served as well as the salsa, and I can’t wait to try more dishes from this restaurant.
